so it isn't just a directory format layout based on contact's node number?

eg: \boxes\1\123\456
\boxes\2\234\567
\boxes\3\2543\44

It is support fo the ASO (Amiga Style Outbound). ASO are 4D-capable , FTN
domains isn't supported

ok... i just remembered seeing ASO layout many years ago during developer
discussions in NET_DEV... this is why i was asking if it was just directory
structure or more involved...

is that not dokumented in source ?

ASO layout is not like BSO

ASO:

2.230.0.0.qst (qico queue status file)

BSO:

i dont know since i dont use it :=)

as you see ASO is more flat layout and alvays 4d !, binkd have a messy 3d/4d/5d
and on top of that CaSE sensitive most match if just one side is not mathing
bad address, disconnect, this never happend on amiga

if you have ported amiga software on os2 ?, there was some times devs that
find it faster then bso outbound, in scanning time, and it did not need any
other fileboxes :=)

to conclude if binkd is the only software you use that support it, then it is
just ram waste

Only Amiga user's need that option.

the files get stored in the outbound with names like this:

3.633.280.0.flo
3.633.280.0.tue

ok... i think...

so it is kinda like what i'm using... any system that support long filenames
can use that style... i can easily see native OS/2, windows and *nix systems
using it...

thanks for the info!

trapdoor via telser.device can do emsi with me

no need to change trapdoor :=)
